About Me

My mission is to grow and support a community of parents who are passionate about nurturing the relationship between themselves and their babies for life-long mental health and resilience.

Hi! I'm Shaylei.

My journey into neuroscience first began during my graduate studies, where I focused on organizational development and leadership coaching. My interests shifted as I prepared for motherhood and read The Nurture Revolution by Dr. Greer Kirshenbaum. I was fascinated by the concept of parental neuroplasticity, the shift mothers experience into matrescence, and how the way we nurture the infant brain in its first 3 years can have lifelong effects on a child's mental health.

This became all the more relevant to me as I found my first child to have low sleep needs and a highly sensitive temperament. As a former nanny, I've always been passionate about connecting with children, but becoming a parent myself deepened my beliefs that babies should have their needs responded to with sensitivity and care.

In 2025, I traded the corporate grind for the stay-at-home (and let's be honest, often overstimulated) motherhood experience while studying to become a Nurture Neuroscience Practitioner under Drs. Kirshenbaum and Zunini.

Today, my mission is to grow and support a community of parents who are passionate about nurturing the relationship between themselves and their babies for life-long mental health and resilience.

Nurtured NEO believes in science-backed strategies and support for lifelong mental health from womb to world.
